Paul Dietrich has called Nashville Tennessee home since the early 1980's. Having been privileged to perform with over 60 notable artists in Gospel Music & Popular styles as well on TV, concert stages, worldwide & domestic tours in stadiums, State & County fairs nationwide, high schools, small venues down to nightclubs, and even in a few Operas as a classical singer along the way. A singer, keyboardist, writer, and small time producer, life has been full.
The phrase "20 feet from stardom" is right on the money for Paul Dietrich. He has been quoted as saying in a television interview "a majority of entertainers & musicians can spend successful careers 20 feet from where their ultimate goal lies. They support Icons, well known stars, and basically help someone else reach their dreams without reaching their own. They fall short despite great effort and sacrifice. Even with worldwide travel and exposure, some of the perks & finance of that echelon, they ultimately only wear the title of "Sideman."
Most musical people have to decide at some point how far they are willing to take a career in music. How hard do you want to work? How much will you be willing to sacrifice? How far will you travel? Will you put other parts of your life on hold? What is your ultimate goal & what will you consider success, financially, personally, most importantly..... spiritually.
